Partyception

Partyception is a fast-paced lobby-style party game for content creators to interact with their community between longer form content segments. Enjoy a streamer versus twitch chat style trivia game that involves various categories such as twitch, games and film.

As one of the artists I primarily focused on the concept art, theme, moodboards, certain animations, certain UI buttons, and webpage design.

Pre-production: Moodboards and design style guides I created. Our group had originally thought of three separate party games. Above are references to how the main title, first, second, and third game would look and feel like.

Pre-production: The first wireframe that my other group member Zach and I created. It illustrates both the streamer and the audience members' user experience. This included all 3 games that were originally planned in the pre-production stage.

Concept Art: Some mockup logos I created. After some discussion, our group decided to concentrate on one game due to the time scope. This changed our theme. We decided to go for a "Vaporwave" theme.

Concept Art: Two versions of a main menu screen I created. On the left side is a moodboard that inspired the different versions of Vaporwave. Vaporwave has several different styles as depicted in the moodboard to the left.

Production: We decided to go with the "Japanese" style Vaporwave theme that consisted of pastel colors, web browser screens, and starry thematics. We felt this was a creative, thematic comparison to actually playing a game on the computer.

Production: I created three category animations for the audience member to see when the streamer selects a category. The animation was created as a sprite sheet and placed into Unity, rather than a mp4 file.

Production: I created various win and lose state animations that are played depending on who the player is (streamer versus audience) and if they won or loss. These were also created as a sprite sheet and placed into Unity.

Production: Example of a sprite sheet that was created as a "spectator" frame for when the streamer loses but must still play in the game. I used Procreate to draw and Photoshop to create the sprite sheet.

Production: Once Zach and I completed most of the art assets, we recreated the wireframe to properly align with the one game our group decided to make. We also add screenshots, font colors, and fonts so our level designers could easily implement the art.

Webpage: A "keyboard" design I created that used the keys to display each group members photos, links, names, and role. I was inspired by the computer frame around our games web GL made by my other group member Zach.
